If I’m not here, I’m working, playing Candy Crush, or reading. I’ve been reading so many fantastic books and today I want to share with you two new releases that I think you’ll love!
Dualed by Elsie Chapman
I was drawn to this book from the description of Dualed, in which you find that West Grayer is living in a dystopian U.S. where every person in her city of Kersh has a genetic twin, or Alt, that they must kill in order to be “complete.” It’s a shocking concept and one that thrills from the beginning to end of the novel. I love the horrifying world the Elsie Chapman builds and the characters who live in it.
You needn’t resist the urge to compare the plot with The Hunger Games trilogy; it’s a fantastic book, but the comparisons really end with the killing to survive aspects of the plot. The worlds are completely different, as are the struggles that Katniss and West overcome in their stories.
You won’t be able to put this book down, and you don’t have to wait to read it! Dualed was released February 26, 2013 so you can pick it up now!
Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham
Lauren Graham’s debut novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, is funny, compelling, and will have you rooting for the main character, Franny Banks, as she struggles to navigate the world of acting. Through barely making ends meet with waitressing tips, acting classes, and embarrassing commercial auditions, you’ll follow Franny as she attempts to start her career.
As someone who long ago had dreams of becoming a celebrated actress, I could identify with Franny and I loved seeing what life might be like for someone trying to break into the business. Lauren’s writing is genuine and hilarious and I smiled all the way through this book.
Someday, Someday, Maybe will be released on April 30, 2013 and you can pre-order it now!
