Once again I want to ask our readers and listeners, what are YOU reading? Fiction? Non-fiction? Paper book or eBook?
I received a copy of Beth Moore’s Voices Of The Faithful devotional book through BookSneeze.com and I have been reading it before bed as part of my wind-down routine. This devotional book takes the reader into the mission field, as the members of the International Mission Board paint beautiful word pictures of life as a missionary. The book is a 365-day journey, with dated entries. As someone who has done mission travels before, I was instantly drawn to this book and the stories within. If you’ve ever been curious about the life of a foreign missionary, this book will certainly whet your appetite and leave you wanting more. You will be challenged by the stories of tribal villages hungry for the word of God. As I began reading the book last month, someone very close to me was preparing to go overseas to start a new life as a missionary. I found myself praying more and more for this person because of Voices of the Faithful. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about the lives and daily struggles of missionaries and anyone who wants to do more to support the missionaries in your life. You can’t read this book and not be inspired by these voices.
