Single Cup Coffee Solution

Last Chrismas (2011), it seemed like everyone I knew got a Keurig coffeemaker. It was like the hot Mom Present. I tried to tell myself I didn’t need one or even really want one, which naturally just made my desire for a Keurig grow. I was good at holding out though. I didn’t cave and buy one throughout the year and only when my husband started drinking coffee regularly did we both start to think about buying one. We ended up getting one from my in-laws for Christmas (Thank you Craig and Kathy!), the Keurig B40 Elite.

Keurig Single Cup Coffeemaker Tip

I know some people are anti-Keurig because K-cups are more expensive than a can or bag of coffee. While that’s true, they’re still way less expensive than buying Starbucks coffee and I found an As Seen On TV product that has made the Keurig a perfect coffee solution for our house.

Cafe Cups (and I’m not being paid to write this about them, though if you purchase through the Amazon affiliate links, I get a few pennies thrown my way) are great for our family because they are reusable, washable (in the dishwasher), and help me reduce wasted coffee. Only making a cup at a time and not paying out the nose for it is a win-win in my opinion. There are four in the package, compared to the official one you can buy by Keurig (My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter) that has a single coffee filter. I bought mine at a drugstore for $10, the same price on Amazon.

The Amazon reviews are a little mixed, but I find them to be pretty stinking awesome. We will still buy the real thing, but for every day morning coffee, I’ll be using these reusable Cafe Cups!

Have you tried these? What do you think?

  1. Love my reusable cups too!!! I am the only coffee drinker in my house so u was wasting coffee making enough in the pot for it to taste good. My sister surprised me w a kuerig and I wasn’t sure how to afford the k cups. So glad I got the refill one! I get a little box of k cups with gift cards occasionally buy pretty much stick to the refillable one.

  2. I hate coffee, but i have recently started drinking loose leaf tea. I use our Keurig for hot water to make my tea in a Teavana Perfect Cup Tea maker. It is awesome, and quick!

  3. I found this post so funny, Krista, because I hear about people holding out against the Keurig all of the time and then when they finally get one, they love it! I have a Keurig; I have had one for over a year and as an avid coffee drinker, I have to say, it is the most amazing machine! I love my Keurig! I use the refillable cups all of the time! I never actually buy K-Cups anymore. Even without the K-Cups, though, the Keurig is still so convenient and perfect for a coffee drinker.
In fact, last week, I had to use a regular coffee maker and I was amazed at how much time it took to brew my pot of coffee. It is quite sad, really, but I realized over this past week how much I truly rely on my Keurig!
I have my one specific brand of coffee, which I love. I fill the reusable canister up from my bag of desired coffee and I look forward to it every morning, without fail!
I really enjoyed your post! Thank you!
