I feel like my family is constantly on the road. We take a lot of trips to see my parents or my husband’s family, and they all live at least 5 hours away from our home in Kentucky. We’ll be traveling again in a few weeks for Christmas and in addition to looking for activities to keep my kids (4 and 2) entertained on the road, I’m also on the lookout for great traveling snacks.
Currently, these are our favorite snacks for the car:
- Peanut butter sandwich crackers
- Goldfish crackers
- Cereal bars / granola bars
I also like to reward the boys with a special treat for good behavior. They love those gummy fruit snacks, and if it will result in quiet, nice trips, I have no problem bribing them! I have a clothespin with each of their initials that stays on the sun visor at my seat and if they are behaving nicely, it stays up. They whine, cry, fight, etc. and it goes down. Anyone with a clip still on the visor at our next stop gets a treat!
