Yesterday I posted a photo to the Facebook Page, explaining that I had won this Xbox 360 Kinect bundle as a prize resulting from my attendance at the Sweet Sweet 2012 party during BlogHer ’12, which I wrote about here. I’m so excited to share with you about what I think of the Xbox 360 Kinect and I’ll do that in the coming weeks but today I want to tell you about an exciting, brand new product from the Xbox 360 Kinect family: 2-way TV Experiences!
It is what it sounds like — TV you can PLAY. Using your Xbox 360 Kinect console to connect, your kids will be transported into beloved television programming like Sesame Street and Nat Geo. Kids will be able to play along with their favorite characters and their interaction makes the 30-episodes come to life! They’ll be able to explore animal habitats and nature on Kinect Nat Geo TV and learn letters and social skills on Kinect Sesame Street TV.
My kids (4 and 2) played an episode of Kinect Sesame Street TV last night and they were blown away by seeing themselves on screen in Elmo’s World and helping Abby Cadabby draw shapes. They had so much fun dancing and singing along and I loved seeing them engaged in what they were watching instead of just sitting and staring. This technology, from Relentless Software (Kinect Nat Geo TV) and Soho Productions (Kinect Sesame Street TV), is absolutely amazing. It’s really incredible what my kids are going to grow up experiencing because of the innovative teams behind these games!
