Jamie Says Goodbye

I always imagined that when the babies got a little older, it would be easier to find time to write. But the reality is now that they are toddlers, things have been pretty stressful at my house.  I have felt like something has needed to give for quite a while.

Since we got home from Blogher I’ve been thinking about so many things. What do I like to write about? Do I even want to be writing? I thought about trying to start a blog about some niche topic I really enjoy, but when it came down to it I just didn’t have the motivation.

I have felt for a while that it might be time for me to step away from blogging here at Playdate Crashers. So last week I took a break and didn’t do anything with it. That week, even though we were sick, really showed me that despite how much I love working on our blog, I need to stop in order to make time for my family, my health, and some new job opportunities. This will be my last Playdate Crasher post as a regular contributor.

For those of you who have been following along with my posts, thank you! I hope that there is something I may have written that helped you in some way, even if it was just providing a break from the chaos of life. I will be keeping a personal blog eventually that I will share with you all once it’s up and running, for anyone who wants to keep following. I also plan to guest post here and remain active in our playdate crasher community.

Thank you for all your comments and encouragement!

  1. Sorry to hear that, Jamie!! I can imagine things are a little busy at your house, though. I know they are at mine!! Thanks for everything you’ve shared with us!

  2. Thanks for all the hard work you’ve put in and fun posts! I’ve loved reading about your family and your thoughts. God bless your next steps! <3

  3. While I’ll totally miss you, I understand the need to step back and relook at your priorities!

Good luck moving forward, and I can’t wait to see you over here again 😉

  4. I feel like we need a video comment from Michael W. Smith…

  5. I’m sorry to hear that, but I understand! Things will slow down when they get a little older— maybe 🙂

  6. LOL Thanks for the video tribute Krista!

  7. Only the best for you, my friend forever!

Seriously though, without getting all poetic and mushy, it has been WONDERFUL working with you on the blog and podcast for the past 2 years. It’s been so fun to bounce ideas off one another, be introduced as your “partner”, and go to the ABC Expo and BlogHer with you. I loved being able to share my excitement about nerdy blogstuff with you. I’m looking forward to having you back as a Very Special Guest when you’re ready 🙂 Love you!

Wow! Jamie it has been fun following you for the last two years, I will miss it. But I completely understand the need to change things and make time for family. I look forward to reading your guest blogs. Krista, I hope you are going to continue this, I enjoy the input and hearing from other moms.
    Thank you both!!!

  9. Stacey – Yes, I’ll be continuing here! You guys didn’t think you’d get through my son’s first day of preschool without a long, photo-heavy post, did you?? 🙂

I have lots in store for The Playdate Crashers, just trying to navigate how to continue without Jamie with me!

  10. Sorry to hear it, but I’m glad you’re doing the right thing for you and your family. Wishing you the best in finding your next calling!
