Product Review & Giveaway: LulaClips

Parenting is full of joys.  The sweet giggles, the soft scent of baby lotion, those precious “firsts.”  Ahhh, bliss.

But let’s be honest — Parenting has some annoyances, too.  Constantly picking up dropped sippy cups, searching for lovies and pacis, and all the times our kids go in and out of their carseats.  Newborns and infants can be so difficult to get properly situated into their infant carseats, and when you’re cradling their precious little heads, the last thing you want to deal with is digging the car seat straps out from under your baby, especially if they’re sleeping!

And that’s where a new product swoops in to save the day — LulaClips!

When we saw LulaClips at the ABC Kids Expo last month, we couldn’t believe the simplicity and crazy smartness of this invention — Two small hand-shaped magnets that securely attach to the fabric of a carseat to hold back the metal carseat buckles while your child gets into the seat!  Brilliant!

I got to try out a set of LulaClips and let me tell you, they’re great!  Here are some quick thoughts:

  • The packaging on the LulaClips is very easy to open!  Don’t worry if the package rips while you open it, because the simple instructions are folded up between the clips!
  • LulaClips are easy to attach to any carseat.  They work like a safety pin with an added safety feature where you have to push in part of the surrounding plastic to open or close it.
  • There’s more metal in your carseat buckle than you think.  Trust me.  It’s not just the parts that go in the crotch buckle that will attach to the magnet; the magnet is strong enough to hold up the pieces of the buckle that are covered in plastic.
  • I do kinda wish that the magnet were a little bit bigger and why I say that is because when I used it on Miles’s seat (our 3 year old), because he climbs into his seat on his own, he tends to knock it off.  (But the payoff of having a child who can climb in his seat on his own is totally worth it!)
  • You can adjust the position of the LulaClips any time you need to change it up.  For littler ones, you might want them positioned higher up, but I liked them lower for my older boys.
  • I was a little worried that Miles wouldn’t like having anything on his seat, but I told him to give them a high five and he loved it!

Here’s a short video to show you how they work!

A quick word about the change in the way we will be running giveaways from now on…In an attempt to better abide by Facebook’s somewhat confusing policies regarding the use of their Facebook Pages and independent giveaways, we will no longer be asking you to “Like” or our sponsors’ Pages for an optional giveaway entry.  We don’t want to risk losing our Facebook Page or our repuation by violating this policy!  However, we won’t hesitate to ask you to “Like” our Page or the Pages of our sponsors on your own time!  We would love for you to “Like” us and support our sponsors with a “Like” too!

**Disclosure Statement** The Playdate Crashers were provided a sample product by LulaClips as a courtesy in exchange for our review.  We were also given two products for our giveaway free of charge.  We were not required to write a positive review, in keeping with our review and giveaway policy.  These thoughts are our very own.  If you’re interested in having your product reviewed by The Playdate Crashers, !
